The journey began for Ally and Kyle in September of 2022 where they first met in their radio program at SAIT College in Calgary, Alberta. Both at the time, unknowingly to each other, were searching for a big change in their current careers and life, leading them to the world of Radio. They started out as classmates, quickly leading to friends, sharing their passion for

their newfound career path, all while finding copious amounts of other traits they had in common – their humor, their sense of ambition and perseverance and their love for their families to name a few.

Their quickly growing friendship led to some outside of school hangouts, with friends and sometimes without. Attending college, as we all know, can lead to celebrations big and small. Their radio program was tightly scheduled and demanding, of which sometimes simply making it to the end of the week deserved a celebration with classmates. After a couple of weeks of Ally toying with her growing emotions of Kyle, she was given a window of opportunity at one of their “we made it through the week!” celebrations, and, as we all know Ally well, she took it and moved in for their first kiss.

In true Ally and Kyle fashion, we like to joke that Kyle moved in the next day. However, truth be told, they became inseparable at that very instant. They knew

immediately that the love they shared was overwhelming right from the start, feeling at home with each other right away. This feeling continued to grow over the next year, spending most of their time together at school and home, sharing their hopes and dreams with each other every step along the way.

After what seemed like an eternity of stressful days and nights at school, Ally and Kyle graduated with honors from their radio program in Spring of 2024! Within weeks of their graduation, Ally secured an on-air position at a local radio station in Olds, Alberta, a quaint small town central of the province, about an hour outside of Calgary. This pushed Ally and Kyle to pack up their home in Calgary and make a move to what would be their first home they picked out together and quickly made their own. RIP to Ally’s stuffed toys and gerbils scattered around their first apartment, but fear not, Kyle still welcomes a few of Ally’s “unique” odds and ends around their new home.

Kyle quickly followed suit in the job acquisition department and quickly landed a job with the same radio company as Ally. They both are now lucky enough to be working side by side in the industry that they worked very hard to be in.

I would like to say they took their time with this transition, getting their things unpacked, adjusting to their new home and town, but expect the unexpected with these two. The love in their household had to be shared in greater depths, of which, came about a derpy, black, 4-legged friend that was needing a loving home, and Ally and Kyle couldn’t say no. This little furry friend is named Joey and has become a part of their family seamlessly, even if it took some testing of their relationship. They passed with flying colors.

Many occasions have come and gone in this timeline, where Ally and Kyle’s family have met, shared laughs, food, drinks and stories. Two families sharing traditions from either side of the country has been welcomed on both sides, fitting in with one another like a custom-made glove. Camping and the outdoors are something that everyone has in common, with outliers like bottled moose over a campfire, or Fred’s, Kyle’s Dad’s, popular dish called Bagna Cauda. Ask him about it at the wedding, he may even find a way to make it for you!

After about a year and a half of dating, Ally figured it was about time to take Kyle, her humble, “Berta” boy, home to Newfoundland and make him an honorary Newfoundlander. As we all know, nothing is worth saying your relationship is official unless your out-of-province partner has kissed the cod. Just like Ally took that first opportunity with Kyle with their first kiss, Kyle laid a big one on the prettiest, shiny fin, long eye-lashed cod caught out of the bays of Dildo that very morning. Word has it that Ally may have even gotten a little jealous…

Ally showed Kyle around Newfoundland, east coast to west coast and back again, to all the places that are very special to her, including her Nanny and Poppy Scott’s cabin where Kyle got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever.

Ally’s and Kyle’s love story has been quick to develop, but that is testament to how big their love is. These two are truly meant to be. They can’t wait to continue writing this story, with one of their biggest milestones coming to date on August 23rd, 2025, and they can’t wait for you all to be a part of this special chapter.
